It is important to eat a healthy diet during pregnancy. A proper diet includes:

- Minerals
Your daily food choices should include:
- 9 servings of bread, cereal, rice or pasta
- 4 servings of vegetables
- 3 servings of fruit
- 3 servings of protein (poultry, fish, dry beans, meat, eggs, nuts)
- 3 servings of milk, yogurt or cheese
Keep in mind that you only need about 300 extra calories a day while you are pregnant.
