It is important to eat a healthy diet during pregnancy. A proper diet includes:

  • Proteins
  • Carbohydrates
  • Vitamins
  • Fats
  • Minerals

Your daily food choices should include:

  • 9 servings of bread, cereal, rice or pasta
  • 4 servings of vegetables
  • 3 servings of fruit
  • 3 servings of protein (poultry, fish, dry beans, meat, eggs, nuts)
  • 3 servings of milk, yogurt or cheese

Keep in mind that you only need about 300 extra calories a day while you are pregnant.
